Clinton not all about herself

In his Aug. 26 cartoon, Lee Judge predicted the content of Hillary Clinton’s address to the Democratic Convention with the caption, “It’s time to make my feelings clear.” Hillary is at the podium and behind her is a sign with her name in big, bold letters followed by “supports Barack Obama” in tiny print.

Hillary’s speech was not one of self aggrandizement. Rather, she asked those women who voted for her if they were voting for her or for the causes she espoused. She pointed out that Obama would be more concerned about women’s issues than McCain. She listed the failures of the Bush administration and strongly urged her disappointed supporters to vote for Obama.

The speech was not selfish. Judge prejudged it and his judgment was wrong.

Kate

Sol, I appreciate the consideration, but I wouldn’t have accepted. VP is not for me. I’m holding out for Supreme Goddess-Queen.

solomon

My platform is a simple one.....all people are created equal and deserve the same chances in life. if there is an obvious wrong it should be righted, and there is to be education first and foremost for our children. a woman has a right to choose under our current laws but she should admit there was a life she stopped from living by her decision. War should be a song by Edwin Star and not a foreign policy.

i have always said i respect all american laws except the IRS regulations and the Marijuana laws.

.....solomon in o8?.....why not?...

I would also push 'Detroit' into making cars that run on cannabis, as it is a renewable resource, and the emissions would at least give everybody a nice buzz, which would reduce road rage and speeding

stone

Sol-
you can increase your 'blackness' by letting someone ride on the handle bars of your bicycle (according to my roommate). That might help keep you from alienating the black vote, as I am not eligible to be President..... yet...

but if I was president, I would nationalize marijuana distribution so the gov't gets all the revenue, and the pot still becomes cheaper, and reduce income taxes for the lower 98% of the country. This would increase gov't revenue while giving back to the hard working middle and lower class, by taking it out of the pockets of stoners and drug dealers.

Also, this would save billions of dollars a year in fighting the 'war on drugs' section that stupidly wastes money on marijuana.

So my platform consists of: lowering taxes for 98% of the country, incorporating a 'consumption' tax on potheads, and cutting out gov't waste.

solomon

I would not want to alienate the black vote, and as everyone knows you have to have your VP deal with race hustlers.

Rouge would have made a better choice for a running mate.

Put him in a wig, a dress and shaved legs ... next stop, the White House.

And Rouge would finally have an excuse for getting caught outside in drag weeks ago. "But officer, I was just practicing for the campaign!!"

solomon

After extensive meetings with different branches of the vetting committee, candidate solomon is prepared to announce his running mate for the upcoming Presidential erection.

It was a difficult decision, with prospects like engineer and Rogue given a very close inspection, but the prejudices they have,(none of them involving race), make them unacceptable. The committee looked for a longshot or dark horse, but the best they could find was gcyl, an ass, and since Obama has been known to have ridden an ass on Palm sunday chances are it would not be appropriate for solomon to ride one in the Inaguration parade. jack(louie) was given a close look, but he has a tendancy to piss of both sides. NEAWG was also given consideration, but only the way Jesse Jackson was considered in 84. kate was considered, but there is already one gun toting, no nonsense, better not go there girl in the race.

after considering all these options I'm please to announce my choice of stone for my VP ticket. That right, stone, who all of you have agreed with at oleast once, and who can attract the right, left, uptight and relaxed vote. He has international contacts and should be able to bring in a much larger state than alaska or Delaware, as california is huge in that repsect.

Also, any quote from him comes through my campaign management office.

“To end Roe v Wade would not end abortion forever, it would become a state issue.” - kcstar_is_one_sided

Wouldn’t that depend on how the Supreme Court ruled?

“They are crying now, but a vote for Palin would likely mean another one or two Supreme Court justices to say goodbye to abortion forever. Even the conservative women privately dont want that.” - People are Dumb

I agree that there is a PROBABILITY that a Supreme Court ruling could say goodbye to abortion forever. Even at the State level. However, I’m more interested on how you became an expert on what conservative women privately want.

KC Star,

Where have you heard that 21% number? I've never seen anything remotely that high.

"The speech was not selfish."

I would agree that the speech itself was not selfish. My guess, however, is that the motives behind it were. I'd bet we'll see the Obama campaign pay off Clinton's campaign debt (including the $10 million to her personally) shortly after the election. They can't pay it off right now without the questions of quid pro quo arising, but give it a few months.

I find the mental gymnastics of many here very humorous. When Clinton was running, Rebublicans couldn't help but criticize the feminist platform that was garnering her votes. Now that she's gone and Palin is in the spotlight, Democrat's can't help but criticize the feminist platform that may garner her votes.

Different sides, same coin...

"Clinton not all about herself"

You could have fooled me.

Whispering, they wont vote for McCain/Palin in the end. They are crying now, but a vote for Palin would likely mean another one or two Supreme Court justices to say goodbye to abortion forever. Even the conservative women privately dont want that. They wont admit it, but when the booth curtain closes, they will vote for Obama.....and he knew that all along.

Rogue, your very close on the feminists goals. Modern feminism is not about the advancement of women. Correct. It is mostly about the disadvantagement of men now. Women already have every conceivable advantage they can get now.

NoMoreMrNiceGuy

Well 90 something percent of the "black" voters are voting for Obama based 100% on racial factors not issues. What's your point? We all know in the end it comes down to either phony religious beliefs and/or which politician promises free this or that.

kcstar_is_one_sided

"According to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, all the 18m Hillary ceiling cracks are going to switch parties and vote for "Sarah" because she's a woman."

No one ever said that. But they did say some women would. The number I've heard is up to 21% which would be a a switch of 3.5 million voters.

NoMoreMrNiceGuy

So what exactly are "women's causes"? You are saying Palin is not a woman? Not a mother. Not a wife? How do you know Palin is opposing to HIllary on all issues, have you discussed the "issues" with both of them?

Dan Beyer

Somebody is questioning Lee Judge's judgement?!
I'm shocked! Shocked I say!
