Where were flags on 9/11?

Recently we vacationed on Cape Cod, Mass., and were thrilled to see so many American flags flying on homes. It was so patriotic, and we felt so proud to be Americans. It was awesome. There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing our American flag flying in the breeze.

Sept. 11 memorial services were held to remind us of the people lost in that attack on America, but very few flags were flown. It was so sad to see that we seem to have already forgotten the tragedy by not putting out our flags.

So please buy a flag, for yourself, your kids and grandkids. Display them, especially for this upcoming election. And most important, fly them to support our troops, who are fighting for our so-enjoyed freedoms.

T. - I guess we're both half right.
Here is the official code:

"The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all-weather flag is displayed."

... I guess I should buy an all-weather flag.

"I WAS going to fly my flag, but it's disrespectful to fly the American flag in the rain."

I can see how one could say that, but the US Flag is flown in all types of weather. The avenue where it would be disrespectful would be if there was no lights shown on it after sunset.

I WAS going to fly my flag, but it's disrespectful to fly the American flag in the rain. People's true respect and honor for their country probably explains the lack of flags flying on 9/11 - if only the letter writer were that considerate.
