This letter is for those who cheered when Joe Biden scoffed and practically ridiculed Sarah Palin regarding her answer to the global warming question in last week’s debate. When asked her opinion about global warming, Palin’s response was that part of the problem has to do with man-made activity but also that cyclical temperature changes contribute to global warming. Palin went on to offer some very constructive solutions to the problem.
Biden’s response was that the global warming problem is “man-made … clearly man-made,” implying that man-made activities are the only causes for global warming. Then he went on to say that if you do not know the cause it is virtually impossible to know the solution.
For those who agree that man is the one and only cause of global warming, I have a rather simple question for you. Based on the fact that a large portion of North America was once covered by glaciers that are no longer here, where did the glaciers go and how did they disappear, since you have neither man nor hydrocarbons to blame for their disappearance?

Michael Kerner - you have your facts wrong. CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere and is as important as oxygen (O2) for life to exist. It is not a pollutant, has no health issues, it doesn't do any of the things you referred to - asthma etc. There's a good possibility that we would benefit from higher CO2 concentrations - eg increased plant growth. The question is whether is significantly increases global temperature - theoretically it's possible, but so far there is no evidence to support the hypothesis. For the past 10 years, there's been no temperature increase, despite a 5% CO2 increase. The problems you refer to can be caused by other emissions, but that has nothing to do with the global warming issue.

NASA recorded global warming on Mars in relation to ours. That points to the Sun and the ever increasing discoveries of more and more solar cycles.

Just like Marxism has been defeated everywhere except college English departments, the CO2 global warming myth now lives only in the minds of journalists.

My knee hurts this morning, no doubt caused my "global warming".
Alaska reports the coldest October on record this year......
Half the orange crop was wiped out by frost....
My furnance ran till May.......
I shoveled quite a bit of "global warming" off my drive last year.

I agree that most of the global warming issues are natural cycles with the earth. However, I strongly disagree that we should totally disregard cutting CO2 emissions and making our air cleaner - it can be a serious health issue. Increase in asthma, allergies, and other health related items have been partially linked to an increase in pollution. Would you rather be breathing the air from a bus or large truck with the smoke coming out of it's exhaust or the air in the middle of a field in the country? People - especially children - do live in cities, near factories, etc - if nothing else - it's for your fellow human beings health.

The facts show that natural cycles explain all the warming that has taken place. This does not rule out some small contribution from man but if it is there, it is obviously too small to matter.
Any effects from cutting CO2 emissions will be imperceptible and NO resources should be expended for this. We just have to deal with the increase in temperature over the next few centuries. We also need to ridicule the scare mongers who talk about some permanent damage. The cycle will continue, no matter what we do.
