Veterans Day is special, as is the Fourth of July, Memorial/Armistice Day, Pearl Harbor Day and numerous important other occasions.
Most citizens of the U.S. pause, pray and give thanks for our veterans and active service people who have protected us from the challenge of foreign intrigue, terrorism and sometimes the greed of special-interest groups that threaten us in so many ways.

"Actually it seems to me that Pub 17 is about in the middle of the Obama supporters. There are those who are off the wall and there are those that are more partisan than Pub 17. They have really shown no indication that they want to unite the country, only that they wish to dominate it."
While I agree with this statement Engineer, you must admit that the Right also has it's share of the lunatic fringe. Rouge is a perfect example of that. While I have a certain amount of admiration for these fanatics for their sense of commitment, they all share the same tragic flaw; their inability to even consider someone else's opinion that is different from their own ultimately impedes their success and in many cases, leads to their downfall.

Pub is just a punk and a liar to boot.

Pub 17
What have you done or said that would indicate you wish to unite the country? On other threads you have made some gratuitous belittling remarks about McCain and Palin. I know of nothing that you have posted that would even hint of any desire to seek cooperation. I can't imagine how you could possibly take offense at being labeled a partisan. As to Graves, he won by a wide margin. As to his record, I'd have to read the bills before I formed an opinion.

To those who served once and to those who serve now, with more gratitude than the words “thank you” can express.
God speed.

Judging Obamas supporters by our friend XVII is a little like judging Bush fans by NEAWG.
You know life has taken a twist when solomon is the peacemaker.

That was nasty and uncalled for, Engineer.
I have no need to defend myself in this, but thank you for giving me one more opportunity to remind the world that, as I alluded to this morning, flag-waving patriot Sam Graves has the worst voting record in Congress of any member of the Missouri delegation, Republican or Democrat, House or Senate, when it comes to voting on veterans' issues.

All this talk about "Obama is a uniter". Then we look at Pub 17's posts and see his supporters have no idea of uniting the country , they just intend to beat others down.

"Jomama"-Rogue
Is that a mixture of Yomama and Jimma, or just another stupid remark?

Sarcasm has no place in these blogs, Gary.

Cybil, do us a favor, get back on your meds, and get over it. Sam trounced the hyphen, give us that win. After all you got Jomama in there, right?

I could be thanked by getting the day off with pay, like all the non-veteran government employees.

All I have to do is look in the mirror, sweetheart. And my conscience is clear-I don't get my opinions from draft-dodger pretend-patriots [for God's sake don't make me publish the links again].

Thank a Veteran today Cybil for your absoute right to continue to make an absolute ass out of yourself. You do such a fine job at it.

Sam Graves' office undoubtedly has a press release weeping for our fallen heroes, Rouge.

It is also worthy to note that there does not appear to be one editorial today in this newspaper in support of the Veterans.
Typical.

"the greed of special interest groups'?
Posted by: Rogue | November 11, 2008 at 07:18 AM
I believe all people realize the need for and the sacrifices of our veterans and those in active service.
I didn't quite get what the writer means by "special-interest groups".
