I find myself, for the first time in my life, embarrassed to be from Kansas City. When my mother-in-law called from El Paso, Texas, and asked what the heck was going on between our mayor and City Council, I knew the situation had progressed from merely irritating to downright infuriating.
Would someone please tell Mayor Funkhouser to a) grow up, b) listen to his City Council, and c) remove his wife from all matters regarding City Hall?
Failing that, could someone please start a petition to recall him from office and install someone who will conduct the business of the city in a mature fashion?
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Carol Hobbs
Kansas City

Only Morticia was a fox. Gloria is like Uncle Fester in frag.
She should go home and quit putting herself above the citizens of our city. Her vanity is shameful. She obviously cares nothing for her husbands legacy. I'd pity him were he not such a whipped wus.

Ha, you're embarrassed? How do you think I feel? I voted for Rod Blagojevich he first time he ran for Illinois governor in 2002!
I am intrigued by KC's mayor and his missus, though. It's like a bad remake of The Addams Family.

I don't recall Bill saying he could not do his job without HRC, her using Mammy as a term of endearment or making controversial appointments (Frances Semler).
It this point anyone still backing the fiasco at the Mayors office is a fool, and that includes you, renfro.
As much as I disliked HRC she is head and shoulders above Ms Squitiro, who is one embarrassment after another.
BTW, I voted for Mark.

I just want to know what the difference is between this and Hillary helping out Bill during his Presidency? Where were the calls from Democrats then for her to just stay away from the White House?

Pub,
It would have to be animated, as no actor could portray the mayor and his wife accurately.

On the national stage? Are you kidding? EVERYBODY has budget and infrastructure problems. NOBODY has a mayor and spouse just landed from Planet Htrae. This better get resolved REAL quick before we get an ABC mini-series out of it (do they still make mini-series?).

The entire situation makes a nice distraction from the real issues facing Kansas City. Budget shortfalls, failing schools, and an $8 billion price tag for required infrastructure improvements will eventually take center stage, and when they do, I doubt many people will worry about the current tantrum between an ineffective mayor (and his sidekick) and city council.
