U.S. should learn from other countries

Recessions such as this one provide the impetus to look at new and better ways of doing things. Perhaps if Chrysler itself can sell its Grand Caravan minivan as a 30 mpg turbo diesel version to demanding Europeans, it could here, too. Americans are not addicted to gas guzzling after all.

Similarly, Americans don’t have to accept mediocre health-care access, exclusive clauses, stressful payment systems and limited choice options.

We need to seriously consider where other nations have succeeded in providing their citizens with superior products, adopt what works, and stop our senseless practice of corporate welfare disguised as free enterprise

So you are saying only SOME people should be forced to drive two-seater death traps while some are allowed to buy and choose what to drive, how much house and private jets? I am not racist, I do not place my vote for a candidate based on race like some people do/did.

Also Americans as should any base of consumer look at conserving versus more consumption. One thing we do not need is some entity mandating what vehcile a person can or can not drive. There people that have to much house and too much jet as well, maybe they should be targeted to downgrade. I doubt the Nancy P, Al Gore or John Travolta types are willing to do their part and stop being excessive. What about ole Ludicrous, I wonder what hip hop gas guzzling ghetto cruisers he rolls around in chasing "white booty".
