I am guilty of criticizing our car companies and government officials for the problems our economy is in. Too many of us are not suggesting answers.
Here’s one: Would some reporter find out how many billions are used on advertising for the car industry? It has to be enormous and a place to cut one of the biggest expenses. I firmly believe most people would agree we do not need to be bombarded hourly with ads.
Hire more floor salespeople to sell the cars and trucks. We need and like the personal touch. Put more profits into the pockets of salespeople, the dealers and the manufacturers, not advertising.

GM can try all they want, the Malibu is still not vert impressive. Uncomfortable and cheap interior finish, same ole GM.
The body style is pretty slick however, once you get inside the cramped and unergonomic interior you will not be impressed. The Camry is still superior as is the Accord.

Marketing is almost as important as R&D. I did not know that Ford redesigned the F150, till I saw an ad telling me about all the new improvements which R&D built onto the F-150.
The same goes for Dodge that paid for their trucks to be placed in the Terminator series that is on every Monday. Their truck is pretty impressive which I would have not seen until it was on TV.
Chevy and GM do not have model overhauls right now (as far as I could tell) because I have not really seen too many ads. If they done some model improvements I don't know. Hence that proves my point.
