Withhold benefits from Bush and Cheney

President George W. Bush and Vice President Cheney are not deserving of any retirement benefits, due to their incompetence of leadership.

In the past eight years we’ve had the most deceptive administration since the birth of our nation. We the people were lied to incessantly by our executive office. The administration of Bush and Cheney has demoralized our country, given tax breaks mainly to the wealthy and big corporations and are responsible for the economic mess we are facing today. The past eight years has also been the most corrupt government in the history of our country.

The retirement income of Bush and Cheney should be donated toward the “bailouts” our country is experiencing. With the harm Bush and Cheney inflicted upon the United States, how could they, in good conscience, not refuse their retirement for the mess they caused our country?

Sorry about the double post. Either this blog or my computer is playing tricks.

If you will reread the post you might notice that it is in the form of a question. So I have not made any statement concerning Mr. Hawbaker. Obama has said he will bring us together. Many of his followers have echoed that he will "bring the Nation together". My point is that both this blog and "Letters" are replete with statements from detractors of President Bush, whom I assume supported Obama, that do any thing but "bring us together".

There goes KC Star again, flying off the handle with accusations he can't bother to back up with any sort of facts of examples.

There goes Jim again, calling out others for the same type of things he does.

Eng,

The only name associated with this letter who ever claimed to be a "uniter" was President Bush. But his failings are always someone else's fault in your eyes.

You seem to have a new hobby of ascribing things to people that they have not said.
Unless you know Terrance personally or have read a previous letter where he has said such a thing, your comment really has no basis in the real world.

Engineer

Have we heard from another Obama backer who is a "uniter"?

I highly doubt that they will have to delve into any "retirement income" or any benefits from their jobs. They both have plenty of money as it is anyways. And they both will be able to secure lucrative speech appearances gaining hundreds of thousands of dollars per appearance, just like Clinton did

Where is BuddyT (Rogue) these days? He should have jumped right in to defend his Messiah.

"...are not deserving of any retirement benefits, due to their incompetence of leadership."

Well, that's a new angle for those who can't stand that Bush hasn't been "punished".

My thoughts. If a Pelosi/Reed congress thought they had ANYTHING that they could make stick (especially before the downturn), they would have begun proceedings immediately. By and large their constituencies have been clamoring for it, there's the revenge factor for the Clinton affair, and it would be easy brownie points within their base.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

Retirement is earned by number of years and salary and has nothing to do with competence.

If followed everywhere no politician could retire.

Withholding earned retirement is a crime.

Their lifetime retirements would not fund the US for 5 minutes.

Cheney is already a multi millionaire.

Bush will be when he writes his book.

We need sane plans, not dumb partisan gimmicks.

Bush may not have earned a retirement.
Vice Presidents do nothing anyway.
As to earned, democrats in 2006 promised if elected they would end the Iraq war.
