Please tell Barbara Pfaff (3/12, Letters) to get her head out of the sand and quit blaming the Bush administration for the current economic fiasco and Rush Limbaugh for his comments on the huge amounts of pork being pushed down the taxpayers’ throats with the current stimulus plans.
I remember that the economy was doing just fine until the Democrats gained the majority of the House and Senate in 2006. Then the likes of Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Harry Reid and Queen Nancy Pelosi came into power, and the economic slide began.
It is sad to think that my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be paying through their noses for the trillions of dollars being wasted now.

Yeah, I remember how great things were in 2006---imagine, in two short years the Democrats took over Washington, and despite Bush so valiantly fighting back with the power of the veto and the tiny Republican minority in the Senate battling the libs every step of the way with the power of the filibiuster, brought this country to its knees.
Is there any question as to why the right is wandering around bumping into things these days? Jeez.

Jim,
As you notice from my earlier post, I completely agree with your ssesment of those who like to find a neat, clean person to blame for ALL the problems.
We seem to disagree on the "Queen" comment, though. I thought it was "just a little" appropriate, since she seems to be ruling with little concern for the rest of the administration goals. From what I've read from liberal pundits, I'd guess that even Obama is a little sick of her at this point. She's having trouble playing in Obama's "can't we all just get along" sandbox.

The politicians ,the governors, judges, police chiefs and lowly representatives, who ignored the illegal immigration occupation in a impoverished foreign country, would have been assassinated by now. That is not condoned in a civilized nation like ours, but we do have a remedy of throwing the rogues out of office in 2009. That's when majority leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) , his accomplice House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and 48 democratic indentured servants, who have sold their soul to the wealthy business fraternity---and outlawed E-VERIFY--- start looking for our votes. The Stimulus/ Omnibus we thought was to return US workers/legal residents back to work?
E-Verify would have started to remove the stigma of illegal aliens from the workplace, opening hundreds of thousands more jobs for the legal population in this economic subsidence. For more understanding how the American people have been brain washed by the leftist press. Go to NUMBERSUSA, JUDICIALWATCH, CAPSWEB, FAIR AND AMERICANPATROL. Call your representative in the Senate or House: 202-224-3121
Incidentally don't trust the cloaked Council of Foreign Relations, as they are involved in this portentous NORTH AMERICAN UNION arrangement. They see our nation as a merger of Canada, Mexico and this sovereign land, with open borders and the free movement of foreign nationals. Read about Europe where the different European country have been saturated with labor from foreign lands, where even in Britain the indigenous people are in direct competition--- with civil unrest brewing.

"Then the likes of Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Harry Reid and Queen Nancy Pelosi came into power, and the economic slide began."
Ed does what most conservatives do: call people "Queen" and blame them with absolutely no facts to back it up. Ed can't be bothered to explain to us how, exactly, these four people tore our incredibly large and complex economy asunder. So how about it, Ed? Explain it to us!

So now the economy was Obama's fault? I seem to remember the economic crisis starting in early 2008....along with bank bailouts and auto bailouts by Bush. Long before we had a new President in Nov 2008. My how memories are short.

"...was doing just fine until the Democrats gained the majority of the House and Senate in 2006."
Why does anyone buy into this crap, from either side? There are a multitude of reasons behind the current economic issues, and most of them CANNOT be traced back to blame for either party.

viet vet - Because as usual, you do all the throwing at the GOP and not anyone else. You are just as partisan.

Ed you are a hypocrite, just like the legions of rant wing hypocrites who were fine with Dubya spending a trillion dollars on his war of choice in Iraq. But now that Obama wants to spend a trillion dollars saving America from financial collapse ... you're a born-again fiscal conservative. The pork you whine about was written into the stimulus package by Democrats AND Republicans. Why not save a few stones to throw at the GOP?
