Our new language

Is a rose still a rose by any other name? The Obama administration doesn’t seem to think so.

In the new tone we no longer have terrorists, but instead “detainees.” I feel safer already. We put their trials on hold. They quickly responded as a group by confessing they attacked us and would do it again. Where’s the thanks?

Now the attorney general tells us some detainees may actually be released inside this country. (In his neighborhood I hope.) Don’t worry. In appreciation they will use only clean, sharp knives to cut our throats, not the rusty, dull ones.

Taking this new language further, our Treasury secretary said that the banks no longer hold toxic assets. They are now “legacy assets.” Makes you want to go out and buy some of that worthless paper. For quite some time new taxes have been redefined as “investments.”

Are the school books being rewritten to teach this new language?

I hope when they hit, they hit hard and do extensive damage, cause huge numbers of deaths and collapse the country into mayhem. Maybe TinaG will feel sorry for them and house the terrorsists. Maybe we can offer them benefits paid for by the majority of us. Maybe we can have one appointed to a cabinet. We have a new language alright. Between the gangsta wannabe linguistics and the "like, it's like, like you know, it's like" bunch, the majority of us are behind.

Thank you Tina, Engineer's memory is selectively short. The term "detainees" was not drafted by the Obama administration as inferred by Denny here.

We have been politically correcting our terminilogy for years. Engineer, where the hell have you been not to notice that?

Two words from the Bush administration: Homeland Security. Yeesh, if that doesn't sound like something from the 60s communist bloc, nothing does. It's domestic security. Why is American soil suddenly referred to as the "homeland"? It gives me the willies.

And by the way, the detainees at Gitmo have been called detainees all along.

Would you point out some of the "delusions" mentioned by Denny that the government, not the far left, espoused before January 20, 2009? You make a lot of statements but rarely offer anything to back them up.

Stifled Freedom

And Denny here is something else for your delusions about Obama. None of the before mentioned politically correct re-assignments began in January 2009. The delusions began many years before that.

Doesn't matter, Denny, Monkey Boy Bush couldn't read it in any case.

OH, and we also have "undocumented workers", ain't it beautiful!

Kee

Denny, you have got it..."We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine....."
