How convienant it is for christians and muslims and jews to have that position. It is nearly as bad as saying that you can sin all you want, but at the end if you repent you will be saved. Blah, blah, blah, if that copout of an answer is what makes you all sleep better at night so be it. But in my humble opinion, there is no devil, no god, no santa claus, no elves, no werewolves, no harry potter, etc....while all great stories,. they are fiction, made up to entertain, but unfortunately, the world is made up of really stupid people, except for all of you of course, :), and those people will believe anything because, ignorance is bliss.

“Since when does an unattributed quotation of Baudelaire's pass the smell test for the Letters Editor?”
Agree. The only smell test passed here was for entertainment value.

Like you're a proponent of America. Your constant "America stinks" rants against the commander in chief show what kind of character you are. You hate our commander in chief and call him anti-american while our troops are in harms way. That is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. As usual, you're the guy saying he's "smarter" when you're actually the dumbest guy on this blog.

If the devil does exist, I am confident he/she is probably a lawyer/politician by trade and holds a government "job".

Oops - I meant to say ...convinced US that s/he did exist.

Actually, I think it would be a pretty incredible trick if the devil (or any other mythical character) convinced that s/he DID exist.

The greatest thing Barack Obama ever did was to convince America he's a proponent of America.
