Demise of dignity

I could not agree more with David Brooks’ column “Modern forces conspire against code of dignity” (7/8, Opinion). However, I would add another reason to his causes for its demise: talk radio in the mode of Rush Limbaugh. The host rants and raves and demeans anyone with whom he or she disagrees.

While we cherish free speech, we are paying a high price for this freedom, and one can only wonder how low we need to sink before even the perpetrators and their sponsors realize the damage that is being done and words are tempered

I quote the Wedding Singer:
"I have the mic, and you don't. So YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY GODDAMN WORD I SAY..."

Change the channel or turn it off. Wow that was simple.
