Government overload
The big government takeover has to stop. Ever since liberals
claimed power, it has been one bureaucratic scheme after another. Their newest
target, health care, is the most dangerous intervention yet.
Politicians, special interests and central planners should not come between
patients and their doctors. We shouldn’t have to wait for Washington to tell us
if we can have the treatment we need. We shouldn’t have to wait in long lines
because hospitals are overrun and doctors are in short supply.
But that is what could happen if the Obama/Pelosi health care plan is allowed
to go forward. Patients must come together now to make sure that our voice is
part of the process, before we are forever silenced in the halls of power in
Washington.

We obviously don't have a good system - I don't think anyone is arguing that we do. However, when you have a problem it's best to discover the root cause before you try to fix it. When we do (if we do) I think we'll find that laws and regulatory issues are at the base of most of the cost and availability problems. However, until someone takes the time to provide an honest investigation, we won't know for sure.
Remember, we're being led by someone who says one should never let a crisis go to waste. I say, BS - don't let them punk you and take power without illustrating they know the real issues let alone have a viable solution to the problems. Yeah, it's bad, but it can get worse.

We need to stop this ball rolling forward because...we have such an excellent system right now? Come on. Poll strangers on the street, and most will say something to the effect "...it is broken." No one is immune (no pun intended) to the chaos of life as we know it under the existing structure. So let's figure out how to fix it, and GET IT DONE. Maybe instead of throwing out the useless "socialism/marxist/communist agenda" scare tactics we should actually work together and come up with a plan that ensures the fat cats in the insurance/health industries learn to tighten belts like the rest of us and everyone is afforded adequate care. Because right now, it is becoming a distant memory even for those of us in the middle class.

I am niether a registered Republican or a Democrat, but you cannot confirm this as a certain outcome because it has not yet happened.
Facts and speculation are completely backwards in this letter. They disacknowledged the facts of who already created big govt....which has already happened.....and then developed firm conclusions on only a prediction of the future.

Ok not saying I agree totally with the Obama plan but how in the Hizzle (hell) can we overhaul HealthCare, our national deficit, Education, social security you get my point. How who has the answer to all of this; no one apparently, Taxes will have to be raised eventually, consumer goods, healthcare benefits (if we keep paying for illegals) these things were inevitable no matter who was elected. Obama’s plan seems to go into more depth that I thought it would but please tell me what should be done since you all have the answer.
I can say one thing is for sure he is precise even if leaving rich folks to wonder about their wealth being redistributed.

Andrzej and Bogumila Oczko, only a idiot does not acknowledge facts.
I am sick of hearing claims that Liberals create big govt when we just saw 8 years of Conservative leadership create the biggest govt of all time. No one created and expanded the power, scope, an expense of the federal govt like Bush did.
Not even a Liberal could have gotten away with what Bush created. Get in touch with reality.

Spending has soared 26% to 25.5% of GDP. Tax revenue is down 15% over the last 12 months, a record decline. Our DEFICIT is now 10% of GDP!
Economic activity is stifled because businesses don't know what law might get passed next and with cap & trade (rape) hanging in the balance, no one knows how to discount the risks of radically different cost structures.
No one knows who will be taxed next, but with this deficit and projections of it just getting worse, we know someone, probably everyone, will be and it will be a lot.
What we are seeing is the worst economic policy in the history of America unfold. Let's hope this generation figures it out so the next generation only has to study it - not live in its aftermath.
