Hero saves child from harm

One recent Sunday morning at 75th and Quivira, I noticed a woman standing on the edge of the busy road in front of a red SUV, struggling to keep a small, agitated, naked boy from running into traffic. I pulled over to ask if I could help.

The woman was on the phone with the police. She had observed the child running back and forth along the road. When she realized he was going to run into traffic, she stopped, jumped out and grabbed the child. She did this at considerable danger to herself, her own small daughter, who was in her SUV, and her vehicle.

Her selfless action saved this child from injury and possibly worse. I cannot imagine how many lives she improved by preventing harm to that child. I stayed with the child while she talked to the police, who eventually showed up. She left before I was able to express my gratitude to her.

If anyone knows who this woman is, please let her know that she is truly a hero. And please pass along that the little boy was reunited with his family. I hope everyone who reads this is inspired by her actions. I was.

The question is where were the parents? Really all the naked little boy needs is some money. The only factor in determining good prenting is money, nothing else. Ask any lawyer or circuit judge.
