Karen McCarthy

Steve Kraske wrote a very nice article on Karen McCarthy (7/5, “Trailblazing career was no bed of roses”).

The last general election, McCarthy spent the day outside the Unitarian Church across the street for Kemper Museum, answering questions about the election, the process and passing out literature on candidates she was supporting. It was a most unusual picture — an alumnus of the U.S. Congress back working a polling place.
