Making martyrs

Three weeks later the Iranians are still demonstrating and protesting the results of their presidential election. Men, women, young and old all face the wrath and violence of the “basij” and Revolutionary Guards.

Many citizens in fulfilling their right to voice disapproval of the government are beaten, imprisoned and killed. More than 1,400 years ago, Iran and its Shi’ite religion were founded on the bloody martyrdom of Hosein.

In recent history, many thousands of martyrs suffered and died in the eight-year war with Iraq. Just recently the name of “Neda” was added.

Each step made in the name of freedom continues to create its own martyrs. Has the Ayatollah forgotten?

Comments

This is old news and protests are over except a very few with very few people.
Martyrs are martyrs only if their side wins.
The protesters lost.
