Not taking Bond’s bait
There goes Kit Bond again, trying to rationalize his bad behavior and salvage his tarnished reputation by inventing a history of the Iraq War that better suits his politics (6/28, Opinion, “America’s labors in Iraq are not yet concluded”). You will note with some irony that he did not include anything about the missing weapons of mass destruction or the vile policies of torture and rendition, the waste of our good men in uniform or the enormous loss of life — especially among children.
And why would he? It doesn’t support who he wants us to believe he is. Is Bond truly a noble statesman or just another two-bit politician with a selective memory?
To be sure, some readers will bite on that statesman routine. As for me, I’ll leave that hook alone.

Obama seems to follow many Bush policies.
He even has a surge in Afghanistan after he said he one in Iraq would not work

"Let's see now Jim, the American soldier committed torture, is that your belief?" - Kee
If waterboarding was torture under US code in previous wars, and still is torture by international law, then yes there was torture. Who committed the torture is unclear, but it is clear that it was sanctioned by executive order. You can rationalize the facts any way you want.

Do you mean the Rendition policies that Obama has expanded? Just like the phone tapping? Where is the outrage about that?
