Saddam Hussein hoax

I read where the people of Iran have been trying to loosen the grip of the Axis of Evil for over a century.

People in Iran want to eliminate the government ruled by radical Islam clerics and carried out by their selected front man.

Now I read in The Star (7/2, “Hussein: WMD threat was a ruse”) that Saddam Hussein said before he was hanged that he allowed the world to believe he had weapons of mass destruction because he was worried about Iran. So it appeared he was more afraid of Iran taking over than the UN controlling them.

America had its hands full when Iran caused so much unrest supplying weapons and terrorists to Iraq, but our military was up to the task.

Now President Obama has an opportunity to help Iran in its quest for democracy with strong support and without the need for war because it’s what the people want. They see the success in Iraq enjoying a free democracy and definitely desire the same for themselves.

Saying what the Iranian people want is like saying what the American people want. There are many opinions in both countries.
Obama can do nothing about this unless he wants to start a war.

The letter writer's first sentence is so ridiculous I skipped ever this one earlier.

Who have the Iranian people been struggling against for over a century?

Backatcha KeeWee,

Ever learn "read to understand"?

My point was the letter writer says now that Iraq has been "freed" in spite of the originally sold goal of WMD discovery, we can "free" Iran by mere diplomacy. S-e-e, I w-a-s s-a-y-i-n-g t-h-a-t I-r-a-n m-i-g-h-t b-e a t-o-u-g-h-e-r n-u-t t-h-a-n I-r-a-q,

Absolutely Jo Jack....why we must discuss the issues don't you see with Iran. I mean we must reach out to them, after all they are only human.....Nukes, schmukes, can't we all just get along!

they walk among us......

JoCo

I wouldn't fire up the Independence Day celebrations for Iraq yet. True, they have a new "revolutionary government, but the "insurgent" army is about to head two doors east, leapfrogging Iran for the Taliban, who should have been the primary target, when we set off to liberate Iraq. Remember?

Now, though the Iraqis also desired freedom, but faced an iron-fist, diplomacy will be sufficient for Iran? I think the mideast domino effect is pure apologism.
