Sotomayor hearings

After spending the better part of two days listening to the Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearing, I am embarrassed for all senators of both parties. Never have we seen so many egos stuffed in one hearing room.

A U.S. senator, you hope, would act as a statesman, not like a thespian hogging the stage. My guess is if the hearings were closed and not televised, few would even show up.

I have been watching the congressional hearings on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor with amazement. I am almost speechless that the Republican leadership — white men who come from a party with a long history of racial discrimination, bias and exclusion — accuse her of discrimination. It is embarrassing to this country.

I say that as a 65-year-old white veteran who, unfortunately, has voted Republican in the past.

Looks like the GOP is showing its weakness, politics; either you don't want to piss off the Latina vote or women quoted by yahoo!

Pseudointellectuals who try to use words they don't comprehend qualify as idiots. DW557 would qualify. Childish would be to correct someones spelling, or a baseless attack, his was well deserved.

LOL, If they want to be idiots thats fine with me because only and idiot will call somsone else an idiot when being an idiot; dang I'm confused!

chalveyob, that was childish, you just came down to his level.

Only if you think being an idiot and calling an idiot an idiot are the same thing. They are not.

chalveyob, that was childish, you just came down to his level.

DW557: All humans are simians you idiot, I know in your ignornace you thought it was an insult, but it just shows how stupid you really are. I would like to know what you think Bush did to create soup lines,l and what Obama has done to end them. I will not wait for an answer, because you like most Obama voters are ignorant slogan spouting morons who know not of which you speak! I would watch the ape references about Bush, Obama looks like a spider monkey!

Hey Joe, racism goes on, on both sides in all races, it's sad but its a part of life because people choose for it to be. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves he also felt they need to go back to Africa (not stay in America). So I don’t fault the Reps for their questions its to be expected and you best bet it would be done by the Dems. Both parties are a bunch of hypocrites.

I still feel Sotomayor is misunderstood but hey you never know what’s lurking deep down inside someone.

If anyone created soup lines, Kee, it was the simian that left the White House back in January. President Obama is fixing the problems Bush caused!

Yep your're right Gayhawk you and Jos deserve each other. Maybe we will be able to run into each other in the soup lines your man Yomama is creating!

Joseph is certainly forgiven for the sins of his past... like voting Republican. It took awhile, but I am thankful for your enlightenment...

democrats supported segregation when it was far worse than it is now,
Their senior leader was a member of the KKK.

Hey Joseph, I am a 64 year old white Veteran Conservative who would like to meet you and slap the ignorant snot out of your ass,,,dipstick..
