Support Sen. Kit Bond

A recent writer (7/3, Letters) took great effort and little wisdom to excoriate Sen. Kit Bond’s position on the war in Iraq.

The key words cited were the missing weapons of mass destruction, rendition, torture, and so on.

Bond’s position was correct and consistent, never wavering. He looked at the facts as they existed, cast his vote and stuck to his guns even when he had skin in the game.

His service in the Senate is the best of any Missouri senator in my lifetime, and if we had 49 more like him we would not be in our present position.

There are no easy wars. Our military distinguished itself under the most trying of circumstances. God bless them, and God bless America.

It would be prudent for the critical writer to expand his reading beyond MoveOn.org and UAW pamphlets.
