Thanks, Mom and Dad

I’d like to thank my mom and dad for staying married for 65 years. Thank you for not subjecting my brother and me to stepbrothers and sisters and ex-step in-laws.
Thank you for not smoking or drinking and instead using that money to take us on wonderful vacations.

Thank you for not having two TVs in the SUV and for actually wanting to bother with us and show us the orange groves, cotton fields and mountains.

Thank you for never fighting in front of us. Thank you for not having us until you could afford us so we had a mom waiting for us when we got home from school.

Thank you for paddling our behinds when we needed it.

Thank you for teaching us not to get into debt. That allowed us to retire early with no debts except a debt of thanks to you, Mom and Dad.

Yeap, because all the kids that do have parents that fought in front of them, or drank or smoked are now on the streets selling drugs. Damn those DVD SUVs!!!!

Dang it’s the Brady Bunch in real life, Oh how I wanted to have a life like that but my mother was strong as four men emotionally, physically and spiritually. Thank you to my mother. Gave me the ground work to be the best father, husband and friend I can be all though I still married a crazy azz woman lol.

Good letter!!

Dam those TV's and SUV's they are ruining the family....huh?

Luckily you stay married, had you been divorced and denied the chitlins their entertitlment, one of you could end up in jail. Being and staying married is not the fashionable and popular thing to be today.
Seldom do you see a commercial with some gal stating how she is a married mom.

Of course there weren't TV's in SUV's 65 years ago when these two wonderful people were raising a family.

AMEN! And I thought I was the only one with a family like yours. Through my parents I have instilled the same values and now am joyfully watching my grandchildren experiencing the same values and love of God, and family.

Amen Kathy, you are one lucky lady.

I never had such a child hood. But through the grace of God I was able to give it to my children.

I know you will give your kids the same opportunities.
