Usual scare politics
This is in response to Judi Tremaine (7/6,
Letters). She states that President Obama is trying to scare us into a quick
decision on the health care issue.
This is true but nothing new. Remember “weapons of mass destruction?” Or how
both sides of the gun rights issue scream how we’ll die horrible deaths if we
don’t do it their way?
The sad fact is, most people have become too lazy to bother researching, and
are turned off by facts and graphs. So our leaders use the one method that
works. We as people need to care more about facts and less about “impulse
voting.”
To me, if you stop caring about knowledge and want a government run like a
drama show, don’t be surprised when officials make decisions you don’t like.

When you have no good ideas of your own just rant about how bad the other party is.
That works on uninformed voters who are the majority.

Odai you have a damned short memory. The decsion to invade Iraq took almost a year and a half and two or three presentations, debates, etc in Congress.
Yommam wants to put through this health care fiasco in a month.
I have some advice for you Odey, hang on to your wallet.

Cue the organ: Duhn, duhnduhn,DUHN. Toon in tomorrow for another scary episode of D.C. drama! Is anyone actually scared? I mean then (Bush) or now (Obama).
I think political speakers have used that old tip: "Picture your audience in their underwear" so long that they think they've scared our pants off.
