‘No’ votes on rape amendment

Dear Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts,

Recently, you voted against a bill from Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) that would prevent the government from funding contractors whose employee contracts prevent workers from pursuing allegations of rape against co-workers. Thankfully it still passed.

Rape — and defending companies whose employees are guilty of it — is completely disgraceful. Protecting the rights of the citizens is your first responsibility. Unfortunately, you have shown that you hold corporate government contracts and financial interests above defending the basic liberties afforded us. This act against the American people accelerates me to refuse to recognize you as anything more than a political prostitute whose vote can be paid for by the highest bidder.

I urge citizens to continue to write you on issues they view to be important. I wholeheartedly believe in the citizens’ duty to voice our opinions, no matter how deaf the ears our cries fall upon.

I leave you with the hope that you never have to look into the eyes of any citizen who has been raped, their rights for justice torn from them, and their only question is why. To which your answer must be because the corporate/government contracts were more important.

And Acorn is a national liberal organisation who took on registering voters in parts of society that normally vote democrat.
So you are basically saying that any elected democrat is tied to ACORN. Not very original. Actually kind of pathetic when it is all you have. Once again you are unable to attack the bill so attach the person. Pathetic

Gee and does that have anything at all to do with the bill. Hmm. nope. And this is the one and only id I have ever registered for this site. So once again you are wrong.

Al Franken is a deadbeat.

Hey Pubes, ACORN "registered" 90,000 voters for Stuart Smalley, not a tough connection to make moron.

And is anyone surprised by the comments left.

Let's see we have the ever present male victim nomo who apparently has been victimised by every female he has ever met. Who's stunning power of deduction claims that since there is a market for big screen televisions and people go to casinos that there can't possibly be people who are struggling to get by, that since there are women who have taken advantage of the system then all women take advantage of the system.

And of course Kee aka BuddyT aka rogue, aka that angry old man down the street with the don't walk on my grass sign. Who doesn't bother looking at anything but if the person is democrat or republican to determine which side he is on makes some pseudo witty comment on the name relates them to ACORN and dismisses the whole thing.

This is normal partisan politics plain and simple

ACORN's own, Al-the loon-Franken, came up with a bill?? And it was against rape?! Stunning. Wow. It passed? Wow.

As the two Ravens said, "now I done seen everything!"

"It's a question of priorities and sexual crimes against women aren't even on their radar."

I could not disagree more. Sex crimes get more media and govt sensationalism than ever before. A story cant even get in the news without a sexual component.

Obviously, its all partisan politics with these two Senators.....big surprise.

I am waiting for the Franken Bill on shleters for abused men.

Al Franken coming up with a bill? One can only imagine what's in it. I would imagine it is not a bill to give some protection for vistims of rape but rather some sort of scheme to allow lawyers to rake in some phat revenue by conjuring up bogus stories.

Brownback, Roberts, and Bond voted against the Franken amendment. The US Chamber of Commerce also lobbied against the amendment.

It's not that the above "no-votes" are necessarily "pro-rape" but that they are "pro-business" and they just don't care about rape.

It's a question of priorities and sexual crimes against women aren't even on their radar. There's just no money to made in rape crimes so why bother?

Besides, the contracting companies figured out foreigners were better value employees years ago. Does KBR even hire Americans anymore for defense work?

Clear? Don't bring this up again, please.
