The government we deserve

We’re seeing just how vulnerable the rule of law under constitutional government really is when attacked without scruple.

First, power-seekers approve bogus revenue bills so bloated and incomprehensible no voter can possibly figure out how money is actually spent. Next, they pass unread laws so bulky and opaque taxpayers can’t know what they really mean.

The administration appoints extra-constitutional executives not responsible to the electorate. These bureaucrats rule arbitrarily in a lawless vacuum, financed by cash from an ideological slush fund. Activist judges, with “empathy” for “social justice” but not the Bill of Rights, don’t protect us. Constitutional checks-and-balances are thus superseded.

Within the foreseeable future, we’ll get the government we deserve.

Rockefeller recently introduced S. 773,
"The Cybersecurity Act of 2009."
This bill is sponsored by your socialists in congress! If you think W was a threat to your constitutional rights! Take a look at this one. (Eliminating your freedoms one bill at a time.)

“We’re seeing just how vulnerable the rule of law under constitutional government really is when attacked without scruple. “

Oh really, and where was your outrage when the Bush administration was rounding up American citizens and detaining them without the right of habeas corpus and violating rights of individuals by doing warrantless wire tapping.

“First, power-seekers approve bogus revenue bills”

Let’s get the facts straight Sam. What was passed were expenditure bills, not revenue bills.

“so bloated and incomprehensible no voter can possibly figure out how money is actually spent.”

Have you ever read legislation Sam. If you don’t have a law degree in most cases it’s always been difficult. This is nothing new.

“Next, they pass unread laws so bulky and opaque taxpayers can’t know what they really mean.”

See above Sam.

“The administration appoints extra-constitutional executives not responsible to the electorate.”

Been done forever Sam. By law, the president has the power to appoint administrators for lesser than cabinet position administrators. What is different this time is what they are called. The term czar is being used more now than in the past.

“These bureaucrats rule arbitrarily in a lawless vacuum, financed by cash from an ideological slush fund.”

Again wrong Sam. Any position that works for the executive branch can only administer and enforce existing laws. All decisions are within the jurisdiction by the courts for review. And do we really want to talk about ideological slush funds with conservative hero Ollie North and the Iran Contra Affair still out there.

“Activist judges, with “empathy” for “social justice” but not the Bill of Rights, don’t protect us. Constitutional checks-and-balances are thus superseded.”

2/3s of the Supreme Court was nominated by Republican presidents. About the same percentage of judges sitting on the federal court benches were also appointed by Republicans. If you don’t like the court, you only have yourself to blame Sam, because the people you voted for were the ones that put them on the court.

“Within the foreseeable future, we’ll get the government we deserve.”

The government we deserve is the government that was elected. Government was not designed to pander to a vocal minority of the nation’s population. Just keep on listening to your news sources, they have been keeping you well informed to this point in time.

We have been trying to figure out how money is spent since before any of you were born, this is nothing new. more than half the people in the US have no clue where thier taxes money goes. It an issue when Obama trys to help and bring a (drastic chnage) But change. If it was so great before then it would have never gotten to this point.

These issues are not his fault, blame him after his term is up :>)

We've already had that type of government for almost a decade now! It will hopefully end in 2010 and 2012! The Supreme court will take much longer! In the mean time Sam Gill has my vote!

Kee

You said it Sam.
