No matter how many times President Obama says he’s “created” or “saved” 1 million jobs, or Tim Geithner says the economy is great, there’s one truth difficult to ignore. Unemployment keeps going up and is now at 10.2 percent.
Despite the trillions of dollars the government has dumped into trying to “fix’ the economy, our “leader” responds with hope and blame (Bush) rather than the promised hope and change.

A few more documented examples (nothing from Fox) on the credibility of this White House and the Democratic Party. Enjoy!
“July 27, 2009 by Ryan Kos, AP,The Daily Reporter
Portland, OR — Politicians are straining to convince people the government is stimulating the economy.
In Oregon, where lawmakers are spending $176 million to supplement the federal stimulus, Democrats are taking credit for a remarkable feat: creating 3,236 new jobs in the program’s first three months.
But those jobs lasted on average only 35 hours, or about one workweek. After that, those workers were effectively back unemployed, according to an Associated Press analysis”
“The AP reviewed a sample of federal contracts, not all 9,000 reported to date, and discovered errors in one in six jobs credited to the $787 billion stimulus program -- or 5,000 of the 30,000 jobs claimed so far.Even in its limited review, the AP found job counts that were more than 10 times as high as the actual number of paid positions; jobs credited to the stimulus program that were counted two and sometimes more than four times; and other jobs that were credited to stimulus spending when none was produced. 10/29/09"
“An Associated Press review of the latest stimulus reports - which the White House promised would undergo extensive reviews to ensure accuracy - found that more than two-thirds of 14,506 jobs credited to the recovery act under spending by just one federal office were overstated because they counted pay increases for existing workers as jobs saved. 11/4/09"
“While Massachusetts recipients of federal stimulus money collectively report 12,374 jobs saved or created, a Globe review shows that number is wildly exaggerated. Organizations that received stimulus money miscounted jobs, filed erroneous figures, or claimed jobs for work that has not yet started. One of the largest reported jobs figures comes from Bridgewater State College, which is listed as using $77,181 in stimulus money for 160 full-time work-study jobs for students. But Bridgewater State spokesman Bryan Baldwin said the college made a mistake and the actual number of new jobs was “almost nothing." BOSTON GLOBE 11/11/09"
Did somebody put Biden in charge of documenting the stimulus “success”, or is it just another case of Obama justifying outlandish spending by making empty promises that sounded good?

Jazzman I don't want Obama to fail in restoring our economy! The question is if you try to spend money to break a recession and it doesn't work, why would you throw more money after the failure? Your hopes of Obama borrowing money to get out of debt is hairbrained.

KansasDog try a book by Ludwig Von Mises an economist in the Jon Maynard Keynes era! (The theory of money and credit) Keynes idea to borrow, leverage, and print money from nothing to back it is a failure that what we keep experiencing every few years. Keynes was a poor man during the deprssions and Mises was wealthy through them!

"Jazz you can not spend your way into prosperity." - NOMO
I get that you aren't a Keynesian economist, what is you're solution to jump-starting the economy when private enterprise and consumers are not spending?

First off you missed my point and you are way off base. Keep your racial remarks to your self because if you look back at any of your answers they all have race in them. Second I never said you can spend your way to prosperity in this case but it has been done, you can open a business with nothing and expect to make a profit..
Bush does get blamed for things often and yes maybe it was his fault but now I am a true believer that the president currently in office has to take the helm and work with what hes creating and what was left. But dont act like its just the left doing all the blame when out of a conversation we could be talking about Camel Balls and you will find a way to show your bias against dead beat lawyers and ghetto gangster wanna be's Obama!

I will post this again NOMO because you must have read what someone else wrote. This proves my other point about hatred.
GH, Kee I have no doubt what you are saying but is the wishing he fail as President or America going to fix the problem? Ive seen nothing but negative negative and for the most part someone of it is legit but when does hate become concerne. Hate blinds the solution when concerne molds a solution.

Jazz you can not spend your way into prosperity. I find it funny how Obama always gets credit and Bush always gets blame. Jazz what jobs, can you give us an idea of job descriptions and how you can prove this is the case? Because some deadbeat lawyer says so? Bush created plenty of jobs, yet lefties refused to amdit it, just like they refuse to admit he expanded our renewable base and improved efficiency and pollution of our coal fired plants. The simulus did nothing but cater to special interests and pave roads that did not need to be paved. Short term govt jobs for the most part that will require more tax base to support. If Bush had done the same stimulus we would have ben told it was a failure. I suspect racial bias.

Spending our grandchildren's wealth the porkulous bill, and now this so called "health care" bill is obscene. We have nothing now but debt.
This man is a continuing disaster.

Jazzman G.W. started this and Obama is accelerating it! I voted for W the first term (Not the 2nd) because I realized he was in it for something other than the country! Obama is in this for the short term recovery and will pass the buck! When are you going to see what is in front of yout face?
Posted by: Greghand | November 11, 2009 at 11:24 AM
Ok so we don’t acknowledge what was saved and created, fine do that. Let’s just continue to bash and degrade the President for something that was going to take time after Bush & will take far longer for Obama to straiten out, No this is not a bushes fault issue it’s a fact that there is a problem and it was going to be this way regardless of who was/is in office. What Obama administration should have done was predict the turn around and came at us in a more this is what’s going on and we will work at a resolution for the future (or something like that). Now the right is really holding this over his head which is ok but at least let him ride out two more years to see where we will be before crucifying him.

No matter how many times President Obama says he’s “created” or “saved” 1 million jobs, or Tim Geithner says the economy is great!
What this simply means is that Tim Geithner has a job! When he loses his job then it will be time for everyone to panic.
I can't understand why Obama's plan to invest borrowed money into the Welfare sector is failing to yield any progress. The housewife explaining there is money in the account because she has checks left in her purse soon gets a divorce and this relationship will end in similar fashion in 2012.

Wow. The ignorance is stunning. Wow.
Over 3 and half million jobs lost, and the "stimulous" aka "porkulous" is working. Wow. Stunning, simply stunning.

Face it with out the stimulus as much as I was unsure about supporting, it did create and save jobs. I think they want to give off a positive vibe in the mist of the drooping unemployment rate. I understand that too because Americans have proven to be gullible.
We may need another stimulus and for those who disagree why and what’s the best option.
Posted by: Keith Williams3 | November 11, 2009 at 09:08 AM
Yeah Obama also claims he is the innovator of CCT and renewable nergy technology, claiming Bush did nothing in 8 years. Joe Wilson was right on target.
Posted by: NoMoreMrNiceGuy | November 11, 2009 at 09:00 AM
No matter what the Obama administration, the excuse will continu to be, what about the last administration. Personally we finally were able to achieve the modest life most Americans strive for over the last eight years. 1 in 10 mortgaes went in default, the President did not force people to buy too much house, bury themslves in credit, spend on frivilous items, etc.
I cursed at Bush for going into Iraq, I cursed him for the "stimulus", other than that he did fine.

“This should only read, our leader. No quotes.” - Where was I during the last administration?
Good question whispering. We’re not impressed with another post of yours drawing attention to your typical, hypocritical, class warfare “intelligence”.

"... our “leader” ..."
This should only read, our leader. No quotes.
You might be more correct by using something like, "our" leader but using our "leader" is incorrect.
The quotes only draw attention to the McCallister's JoCo/OP "intelligence".

The White House mantra is “jobs created or saved” that they can't document. They did try to provide some “documentation”, with the ensuing hilarity that has become so typical of this administration. For example:
“By BRETT J. BLACKLEDGE and MATT APUZZO – AP WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's economic recovery program saved 935 jobs at the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, an impressive success story for the stimulus plan. Trouble is, only 508 people work there."
But team Obama are setting records:
“CHRISTOPHER S. RUGABER, AP Economics Writer
Still, counting those who have settled for part-time jobs or stopped looking for work, the unemployment rate would be 17.5 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994.
The number of Americans who have been out of work for six months or longer rose to 5.6 million, a record.”
Heck of a job, Mr. President!
