Cell phone law should go nationwide

The Kelsey Smith law was passed by the Kansas Legislature in 2009. Kansas is the first state in the nation requiring cell phone companies to release “ping” information to police searching for missing people.

The new law was prompted by the kidnapping and murder of 18-year-old Kelsey Smith in 2007 in Overland Park. The law has already saved three lives. Let’s do what we can make it national.
