Recently at a function here in Kansas City, Sen. Claire McCaskill stressed that the most important part of the health care bill for her is cost-containment. She added that Americans have to see their premiums and costs come down.
McCaskill made one of the best arguments I’ve heard for the House health care bill: a public option and assuring that Americans will be able to shop for insurance from state to state, which forces competition. And we all know that competition lowers costs.
I agree with McCaskill: Cost-containment is a very important element of the health care bill. Let’s get it passed.

I would really like to know the states in which tort reform lowered medical costs. Could you provide me with that information?

Kee, you brilliant b*****d, you've solved the whole problem! How can private insurers compete with government? By offering mammograms to women under 40! If it's worth having, it's worth paying for, right?

Too bad the non-partisan analysis (CMS) show the whole Obamacare package will actually increase health care costs; also the percentage of GDP that represents health care will actually increase compared to our current system.
What you are actually advocating, Babs, is just a portion of the Obamacare proposal that should be considered on its own merit.
Claire, as usual, is lying to make her "best argument!"

Lets see now Babsy, insurance companies are domiciled in one state at a time, and this bill does not change that. So how again will we be able to shop from state to state?
OH, and please tell me how any private company that must earn a profit compete with the Government that does not? The government pays no taxes and writes its own rules....you want to own a private company competing with that Babs?
Now how is that going to control costs? Heres a hint for you Babs, "no mammograms until you are 50". And as the great leader said, "who is to say you need a pace-maker, maybe you would be better off with just a pain pill".
Welcome to government ran health care Babs,I hope you will be oh,so happy!
