Help Harvesters feed hungry

Every time people go to the supermarket if they would drop just one item (or two) in the Harvesters food donation barrel, it would be a small cost that would add up to so much for the needy families in our community. And encouraging children to place the items in the barrel might start a tradition for future generations.

I think we should start affording the poor more access to resources so they can become self sufficient. You know the story about catching a fish versus teaching someone to fish. There are a very small percentage of people that are poor and can not provide for themselves. At the same time there are those that make choices to put themselves and keep themselves in their state of "poverty". Yet you can witness these "poor" folks wityh Blackberry phones, the latest pair of Nike and affoding cigarettes or booze?
