Islamic nations are proposing an international treaty protecting religious icons and beliefs from mockery (11/22, World, “Ban is suggested on blasphemy”).
The article presents the obstacle of Western free speech to such a treaty well, but let’s not forget another obstacle, that of demanding respect for oneself while displaying total disregard and contempt for all others. Let them get their own house straight before they start trying to get everyone else’s house in order.
To show good faith, they could put forth and actively enforce a treaty condemning any and all violence in the name of any religion. That will keep them busy at home for quite a while.

Pakistan is doing something about it! Rumor has it that their government has Osama Bin Laden staying at a 3 star hotel when 4 star accomodations are available.

I am fed up with the "peacful Islam religion", and all the "condemnations" of terrorist attacks. To sum up, big deal with your condemnations. What are you doing to stop it? Anything, anything at all?
