Keep holiday spirit year-round

We are fast approaching the time of year when many families will celebrate Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. Tables are laden with foods, many of which have special significance. Gifts, stories and memories are shared. These special times are filled with love and joy. We give thanks for our family, friends and our many blessings.

When the celebrations are over and decorations are packed away, remember not to pack away the spirit of these gatherings. Each day share love and joy, and in these difficult times we need to share our bounty with others.

On the wall in my living room is a picture that says it all: “Every day is a gift.” Use it wisely.
