I have three questions for Chat Platt (11/17, Letters), who argues that rolling through a red light at 6 mph doesn’t warrant a ticket:
Is it fair to say that had you obeyed the law you wouldn’t have been ticketed?
Is it possible that someone so hurried as to roll through a red light at 6 mph might not have fully surveyed the intersection for safety to others?
If your habit should someday injure another, would the remorse be worth a few seconds of your life?

It is an outrage that Chad Platt was ticketed twice for running a red light. He was safety-conscious enough to look at his speedometer while driving into an intersection he shouldn’t have been in without stopping.
I’m sure he was on an urgent mission and couldn’t be inconvenienced by coming to a complete stop. Let’s all chip in and pay Chad’s tickets for him. Down with Big Brother.
