Sick of right-wing finger-pointing

As an independent voter, I have been seeing a constant stream of insults toward our current president.

Like small children in a schoolyard bullying another student, I have been hearing “You stink,” “Your mama does/doesn’t wear combat boots,” “You walk/talk/bow funny,” “You were born a nothing,” “He got a cookie, and I didn’t,” “It wasn’t me” and the perennial favorite, “Well, he started it.”

My question: Besides following Obama around and criticizing, what is the right wing in this country offering? Do you have solutions to problems? Speak out. Have you formulated any plans? Show them. Do you have a charismatic leader? Present him or her.

I am willing to see the positive points on both sides, but lately the only results are coming from the left. A lot of finger-pointing is coming from the right, but it is not very productive, attractive or inclined to hold my attention.

I look at the anger from the political right and wonder if it isn’t just as simple as anger with themselves that they stood by defending the indefensible for eight years.

Smarter Than You

How pathetic do you have to be to play the "first name" standard? I, and the rest of the civilized world, will stand by (based on your postings) me being Smarter Than You.

To be truthful, I wish the standard was a little higher than what you provide.

Jim
I can't give you specific dates or times, but 2 of Bush's harshest critics, and you probably won't believe this, were Limbaugh and Hannity.
I know because I listen almost every day. They were completely against the prescription drug bill, campaign finance reform and their biggest criticisms came from Bush's lack of attention in controlling the borders. There were others, but they thought these 3 were the worst.
Contrary to popular belief, they are very critical of decisions they don't agree with no matter who the president it.

Jim:

"I suppose everyone knows that just like everyone here knows about your comparison of our troops in Afghanistan to Girl Scouts. I'll take no lectures from someone who smears the troops so cavalierly."

You pull that lie out every time you get desperate. This former Marine likened YOU to a Girl Scout, not our brave troops.

"This coming from a person who doesn't even have the stones to put his own name out there."

Where's your real name, coward?

Jim

"You're a joke. Everyone here knows it."

That's your best reply? I suppose everyone knows that just like everyone here knows about your comparison of our troops in Afghanistan to Girl Scouts. I'll take no lectures from someone who smears the troops so cavalierly.

Only in STY land could someone only call themselves independent if they vote a straight republican ticket.

"And if it’s the Carol Philo that is a member of Mensa, shouldn’t be smart enough to know that anybody can google her name?"

This coming from a person who doesn't even have the stones to put his own name out there. Neither you nor Arminius can be bothered to sign your own names (not even your first names) to your blathering. I guess I'd be ashamed too if I wrote anything half as idiotic as you two do.

Arminius, you love to talk a good game, but where is your proof that Obama is taking us down the road to "totalitarianism?" Like so many other "facts" you provide, there's never any proof.

Smarter Than You

Only in “Jim World” would a person researching the facts be accused of “cyber-stalking.” Is this the Carol Philo who was the local secretary for a group that had Lewis Diuguid as a featured speaker, or the Carol Philo who was a proud
member of "Dump the Incumbent?" Given her "independent" nature, I'm just curious. And if it’s the Carol Philo that is a member of Mensa, shouldn’t be smart enough to know that anybody can google her name?

Google's a wonderful thing! (Unless you're Jim who wants us all dumb and Obama apologists).

Happy Holidays!!!

Arminius

Jim:

You're a joke. Everyone here knows it.

Actually, the letter writer claims to be an independent voter, so I searched for other letters that would show that is not the case. That search also pulled up the Mensa information, which was posted for the general public to see.

Unfortunately, the so-called Mensa member apparently forgot that she wrote a letter to the Star last year in which she bashed Sam Graves and praised Kay Barnes. That wasn't the act of a genius.

NoMoreMrNiceGuy

I'm sick of left wing, libral whining about "the last 8 years". Most (meaning the largest majority) of people have not had much of a change in standard of living, we are afforded the greatest standard of lving of any country in the world. With liberals it's always about "fairness".
I wonder how much GPA Michelle Obama handed over to someone else that was not earning the same level of grades in college.
Some how leftwing liberals think higher taxes, anti-business practices and yet bigger deadbeat government is the answer.
It's no wonder some of us stock up on ammo.

Jim

"Carol claims to be a Mensa member..."

Actually she doesn't. At least not in the letter. The fact that you feel obligated to cyber-stalk her tells us that you have no real, factual response to the points she's presented.

Totalitarianism??? I guess since people aren't buying your BS about socialism, fascism, marxism, maoism, you're running out of "isms" to pin on Obama. So tell us what specifically he's doing to usher in "totalitarianism". What elections has he cancelled? What legislative bodies has he disbanded? What Supreme Court rulings has he refused to follow? Which political enemies has he had jailed or murdered.

You sound just like someone from Code Pink a few years ago. Crazy and totally overboard. Your Obama Derangement Syndrome isn't fooling anyone.

Jim

Jeanette,

I don't remember anyone being "concerned or extremely disappointed" by anything Bush did in his first term. This was the 4 year period where he spent billions on tax cuts that weren't paid for, Medicare Part D, which has cost us a trillion dollars that was completely unpaid for, and started the habit of funding the wars through emergency supplementals, meaning they weren't on the budget. With the exception of Harriet Miers, Dubai Ports World and immigration reform, I don't remember conservatives being openly critical of his policies at all. In the last year or two of his presidency, there were rumblings about spending, but no open criticism or "extreme disappointment" that I can remember. Can you show me where that was, especially in the first term when it really mattered?

Arminius

Carol claims to be a Mensa member, yet she obviously lacks the intelligence to recognize plans and solutions from conservatives when they are presented.

Carol apparently believes we should all be quiet as the Obama administration marches us further towards totalitarianism. That's not too sharp and it has never been the American way.

Kee

You wanta see some more "finger pointing" Carlo? How about that Obama Justice Department?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/28/acorn-receive-pending-federal-payments-justice-department-says/

Money is okay to be sent to those stone thiefs. Bring KSM to a show trial in NYC, and don't you dare prosecute those Black Panthers who brough clubs and intimidated voters at polling places.

This is "justice"?

Kee

Golly John, and remember how it was all sweetness and light for President Bush from the political left? You have a damned short memory John Boy. You moonbats wrote plays about his assination and called him a Nazi on numerous occaisions. Sorta like sauce for the goose, etc. ain't it John Boy?

I have hear Obama's policies criticized to high heaven and back, but I have never heard him personally insulted, other than being called "the Messiah".

If you think the government taking over private sector enterprise in banking, auto manufacturing, and health care is not a "good idea"; and that double digit unemployment is bad, and that Trillions in debt is really scary, and that letting good men die while twittling one's thumbs is not OK; well then OMG you must be one of those hateful right wingers!!!

How's that for "finger pointing" Carlo?

jeanette

I don't know any conservative who wasn't upset and extremely disappointed with some of the things Bush did in his eight years. I never saw any of the "defending the indefensible".
I'm not much into the name calling because each side is equally guilty of bad behavior, but to say that the ridicule only comes from the right is completely disingenuous and hypocritical.

GCYL

“As an independent voter, I have been seeing a constant stream of insults toward our current president.” - It was nothing but love towards the last administration.

Carol Philo as an Independent voter, you have a very biased memory.

GCYL

“I look at the anger from the political left and wonder if it isn’t just as simple as anger with themselves that they stood by defending the indefensible for ten months.” - I’m just one meaningless bullet point.

We understand John Meyer of Blue Springs.

Chuck

I comment only for myself from a Reagan conservative perspective. I don’t know what you watch or listen to when you see “a constant stream of insults toward our current president”. I have no idea what your second paragraph means in reference to President Obama, so I won’t respond to it and waste space. I see nothing insulting about questioning the actions of an elected leader. I do not criticize President Obama for making the decisions he makes but I am critical of his actions if they are contrary to what I believe should have been done. I question why he makes the decisions he makes. Since you don’t detail specific problems that need solutions, I can only say, in general, do the opposite of what President Obama has done. I have formulated many plans but once again having not identified plans for what, I can’t waste the space with my whole litany of plans for a conservative movement . If you are genuinely interested in solving problems, what does a charismatic leader have to do with anything? The serious nature of the problems at hand should be plenty to hold your attention. And Mr. Meyer. The only anger I have is toward obviously poor decisions being made. I have only disappointment for the decisions I made supporting the Bush Administration. He was much too moderate, even liberal, in the decisions he made.
