Convention coverage

I am grateful for The Star’s coverage of recent large conventions in Kansas City — specifically the SkillsUSA competition and the NAACP.

These gatherings add so much to the vitality of our downtown area and are essential to the success of the hospitality industry: hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, transportation and more. It seems that our visitors are generally very pleased with the reception and services that they receive.

I would like The Star to designate weekly space to feature the regional and national groups that will be in the Kansas City area during the coming weeks. This would assist locals who like to give friendly greetings and appreciation to our visitors.
