Bush’s 9/11 interview

I remember as a child combing the pages of National Geographic magazine to learn about different cultures, new explorations, recent discoveries and other childhood interests. Little did I know that as an adult that the first cable channel I would ever block would be National Geographic.

“George W. Bush: The 9/11 Interview”? Are you serious?

I would rather hear him do a reading from the book he was holding at the elementary school where he was appearing as the attacks occurred. I’m sure there would be more accuracy.

Go ahead and retire. Mission accomplished, and thanks for nothing.

Can't believe this thread went on so long after I left it yesterday afternoon...

I spoke with The King a couple of days ago...and found him to be a huge blowhard... Boasting of his ideas to save our country - not listening to reason how we play our game regarding giving opinions on different topics written in by Star readers...

Kate's reasoning to write a letter was on the tip of my tongue yesterday...but even her humor could not get through to this crazed King....

King - just an idea...list your opinions per topic and we'll likely banter them back and forth... then you'll get your discussion....

I don't talk to liars, and I certainly don't talk to murderers.

Smarter Than You,

Solomon just called for the murder of the unemplowed and downtrodden. Did you purposely miss that comment of his?

Now, you know that I have been specifically asking for your ideas on how to fix our economic situation, to which you have yet to respond.

Is your idea to our economic situation to let the poor be murdered in the uprisal that you have caused? And what kind of person does that make you?

Do you not understand that I already know this about folks like you?

Solomon

.......don't run him off STY..... maybe by the weekend he'll be convinced I'm a klan member.....

Solomon

........king guy.....if you have truly considered anything that I've said as endorsement of either faction of the one party that has given us every President in the last 150 years you're as sharp as a cue ball......

..........

Smarter Than You

The King, like Elvis, is bloated, addled and (intellectually) dead.

Long term jobs means fixing the economy, not the gimmicky actions so favored by this administration. For two years Democrats had control and could have focused on jobs and the economy; instead they gave us Obamacare. They failed to even offer a budget.

All I have seen offered by this administration is more government spending, more debt and jobs numbers not even close to that promised 8%. Obama has a track record to run against this time; it sucks to be you.

So feel free to offer your silly attacks. We haven't had a clown around here for a while, and you will do nicely.

Clap, clap. In fact, I'll be pointing to this commentary of yours for a long time to come.

Well done, Solomon. You have spoken the truth about the Republican agenda.

Got anything else to add?

......king guy....last time anyone was this wrong about me was 1973 when time I went into a gay bar while waiting for a Greyhound in Omaha.....heck, the sign said 25 cent draws

......but it's okay, usually stupid people think I'm a liberal, this has actually been a fun change of pace.....

.....the economy is like (and forgive me for going real deep on this one) is like Humpty Dumpty....there is no return to prosperity in our future.....you are a fool if you think the people you vote for have your best interest at heart, they owe the same people as your political opposition......

John S

Stump, you are living proof that America does, indeed, breed some people with feeble minds.

Clinton's presidency was the breeding ground for the 9/11 attacks. If you let anyone tell you differently you slide down from feeble mind to no mind.

And so you admit that you have no ideas? Shouldn't you be seeking out ways to solve our problems instead of welcoming violence and welcoming the end of America?

I thought folks like you campaigned on loving America and freedom. So much for that, huh?

I guess you just outed yourself.

Solomon

.........forgive me for nitpicking with you king guy but women tend to be loopy.....please stick to accurate personal attacks.....to re-read MSs post I would have had to have read it......I did see something about where are the jobs.....I figured you and he were sitting at at McDonalds using their wireless together.......

Really? Am I off target? Re-read Mudstump's post.

What are your ideas on how to address the economy? I know you are a bit loopy, but can you be coherent long enough to discuss economics?

Where are the jobs, Mr. Boehner?

Groenhagen

Mudstump:

"September 11 comes around every year to serve as a reminder to all that Republican leadership and incompetence failed to keep America safe on their watch."

The 9/11 pilots entered this country with improper documents on Clinton's watch. There is no evidence that the Clinton administration stopped any al Qaeda attacks on their watch. Were they incompetent? In addition, Richard Clarke himself said in his book that there was "no proof of specificity" regarding an imminent al Qaeda during the summer of 2001.

"Then they lied the country into a occupation and war of Iraq that cost many lives."

The Clinton administration left office in January 2001 still claiming that Saddam had WMD and, thus, was a "clear and present danger at all times." Did they also lie about Saddam's WMD? Remember, the Clinton admin kept sanctions on Iraq because Clinton said Saddam had WMD. According to the UN FAO, those sanctions led to the deaths of 567,000 Iraqi children under five. Bin Laden pointed to those deaths in 1998 and said that he would send Clinton "messages with no words" in response. I don't think he meant that he would blow kisses to Clinton. I think 9/11 was one of those "messages."

"They spent and spent this country into near ruin and now have the gall to talk about the deficit and out of control spending."

The deficit for FY 2007, the last year a GOP Congress passed a budget that was signed by Bush, was $160 billion, i.e., we had a primary budget surplus. Obama and the Democrats have given us deficits that are nearly 10 times as large as that. Surely, any thinking person can see the difference.

The republican supply side/trickle down philosophy of the last thirty years has failed. They say tax cuts create jobs....okay....SO WHERE ARE THE JOBS?
