Tea party wags GOP

It is evident to most enlightened political observers by now that the anointed tea partiers are now wagging the Republican Party’s proverbial tail. The irony of the last congressional race is that Republicans thought they were using the tea party to capture a majority when instead the tea party was using them.

No matter how much President Barack Obama acquiesced on almost every single issue regarding raising the debt ceiling, House Speaker John Boehner still insisted on fighting over raising revenue, which of course was clear subterfuge.

While I watched my hard-earned retirement savings sink into the abyss, after years of disciplined savings I was finally just about ready to draw from our account. But how can we draw anything from an account that has been decimated by the Republican controlled Congress’ intransigence?

Markets were bombing up until the tea party crash.

As the TeaBaggers were born from the curious union of David and Charles Koch, the TBers aren't wagging the GOP, the Kochs are wagging the GOP.

We're about to slip back into recession, if we ever left the last one. The GOP will soon have even more to celebrate as unemployment rises again and more of Sandra's savings disappears into the pockets of the bankers.

John S.

With a veto and a Senate that backs him? Are you nuts Sandra?

Thanks for helping the Democrats lose what little remains of their credibility!

Yeah, and don't you...

You have no idea who you're talking to, do you?

Guess you're right about this....I don't. As I told Uncommon Sense...I never claimed to have a slew of ideas on how to fix the economy...but, you on the other hand - said you had many ideas and that you'd done a lot of research on different issues...

...I also said that I wasn't really into a republican candidate, or a Tea Party candidate...but I'm not much liking what's going on in the country today - period.....

No flinging poo...or more tat here...have a good day...and as I stated earlier to Uncommon....maybe you should consider running for office, especially if you have good ideas...

"...I see no reason to further discuss these or any other issues with The King...since he seems to be discounting any republican or Tea Party ideas and proclaims himself to have many, many ideas...

Discounting republican or Tea Party ideas? You have no idea who you're talking to, do you? Wasn't it you folks who came up with the Fair Tax idea?

Look, I'm trying to find middle ground here, but all you can seem to do is fling poo. And still no tat from you. Just admit it now, the Republican Party is now just a bunch of haters that don't give a shinola about this country. You guys really do suck big time, and you wonder why Congressional approval is at 12% with Cry-Baby Boehner floating at about 30%?

Get a clue.

LL

Well, Uncommon....knowing STY a little better - I'll refrain from using the same point on him.... If memory serves I remember you giving it to Sty regarding his name on many occasions...

...However with - The King, being new here, on the other hand...I agreed that I'd be open to Value-added taxes and actually was looking forward to discussing other tax plans to revamp the tax system...though I did tease him a bit regarding his choice of
user names....

...I see no reason to further discuss these or any other issues with The King...since he seems to be discounting any republican or Tea Party ideas and proclaims himself to have many, many ideas...even though I have only heard one... in truth I did not brag about my abundance of ideas on the subject...

...Maybe since you have such Uncommon Sense the two of you could probably agree on many issues... especially putting down the right.

BTW - I was serious about someone who has put so much energy into researching how things can best benefit our country as a whole. Trying desperately to look at things from all angles...as The King...that maybe he should consider running for some government office... Sounds like he might be good for the country.....

As Porky Pig says...."Tha tha tha that's all folks!"

"...Isn't that waht makes you 'The King?' An over-sized ego is my guess...maybe you should just run for office?" LL

I look forward to your same post about Smarter Than You, since this is your opinion on select user names.

LL,

Bleh. So you admit that you have no ideas on how to move this country forward. I'm all for discussing ideas, so don't misunderstand me. I adamantly requested YOUR ideas, and you come back at me with...

"
The King....you're not really looking to discuss ideas...you're just wanting to give your own opinions...right? Isn't that what makes you "The King?" An over-sized ego is my guess...maybe you should just run for office? :-)

Posted by: LL | August 29, 2011 at 11:17 AM"

Are you kidding me? No tat from you. And now you know why people hate the Republican Party. They are nothing but poo-flingers of the highest order with zero beneficial ideas.

An oversized ego? I chose my username because I know what attracts the poo-flingers. They like them some over-sized egos. It's pretty despicable if you ask me, and Daffy Duck would agree.

LL

"Here's tat... I understand that the value added tax is sort of like a national sales tax used in Europe along with other countries...and I do feel that our tax laws should be revamped ...so I wouldn't throw out the possibility of implementing something of the sort...

If you really want to understand how a VAT works (and I being generous since you gave no tat... I was looking for ideas, not your opinion about my ideas), then perhaps you would be interested in this website:

http://economyincrisis.org/

The site is a bit corny in certain areas, but they do have a point. Oh, and a VAT is implimented in aproximately 150 other countries throughout the world (not just Europe), and they are eating our lunch.

BTW, don't think for a second that I wish to dispose of progressive taxation, but I am willing to listen to lowering corporate tax rates. Tit for tat. It's still your turn.

LL

Well Sol...Drive carefully while out...
...and try to have a good day...maybe - just maybe there's not racism everywhere you look...

You say racism is in all parties and that the Tea Party members downplay their element...I think perhaps that the Tea Party has been unjustly declared racist by many people including the democratic party...consider that possibility...

solomon

.....one more thing before I hit the highway LL.....it is not an indictment on the Tea Party that there are those among them that would have negative feelings about Obama were he President or not, nor is it only among the Tea Party or Republicans.....I'd be willing to bet anyone that there are main line republicans, democrats and independents who'd also oppose him based on his race...

...me, I just have a strong dislike of racists....white ones and black ones....I wouldn't belong to anything that had them as an element of their membership and downplayed the fact.....

LL

Again Sol...I have no idea what you're talking about... Your reference to "some can determine if a black is racist by the way they take orders at the counter at Wendy's"

....I absolutely take that as a racial slur....what of a white person's attitude taking orders at Wendy's?....I'm not getting into another stupid conversation with you about seeing racism when sometimes....none even exists...except in our minds.

steven stratton

Its so easy to say "republican" and "tea party" and add in that they are racist, gay-haters, and hate this country. Its funny though, because no one ever has proof, and it doesn't disprove that what they don't know what they are doing. But if you put aside all of the stereotypical crap, and look at things rationally...

Entitlements make up 60% of federal spending. And Obama wants to spend more to (temporarily) boost the economy, and raise revenue.

In a real life situation, if a person was drowning in debt, they wouldn't keep spending, they would cut back. And programs like medicaid offer promises that the govt can't financially keep. I'm not saying end it, but it obviously needs reformed.

Do I want my kids to pay for my entitlements? No. Not if the entitlements are skyrocketing the debt.

More revenue will not be enough to pay for debt. Its the way it is and people need to see that. The country is going through hard times, we can't spend like it isn't.

Oh, and since you guys are jumping on the ignorant coment bandwagon (which is VERY democrat of you) democrats and liberals are naive people who don't feel the american people can take care of themselves, so you have to do it for them, and everytime someone questions you, you defend yourself by using offensive, or closed-minded comebacks.

LL

King ( your reference for tit for tat )
BTW the reason I suggested you giving some ideas on the subject....was due in fact because you were the one complaining....

Here's tat... I understand that the value added tax is sort of like a national sales tax used in Europe along with other countries...and I do feel that our tax laws should be revamped ...so I wouldn't throw out the possibility of implementing something of the sort...

...possible people might be more willing to listen to your ideas if you went by something other than "The King".... JMO

solomon

......what's to understand about the KKK LL?

.....as to conversation...we're in a room here together where some can determine if a black is racist by the way they take orders at the counter at Wendys but don't see racist elements in the Tea Party at all....
