No to gun control in U.S.

I see that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is promoting the gun control proposed by the United Nations.

Do she and the U.N. not remember Prohibition in the United States in the 20th century?

Let me reiterate: Prohibition was a colossal failure and was ended in 1933 because it did not and could not succeed. Clinton’s gun control will fail just as Prohibition failed to control alcohol.

If this passes, only criminals will have a big market in fire arms, and law-abiding citizens will be the victims.

Can’t Hillary read any history?

I hope Congress can see through this obviously flawed scam.

Our freedom is the result of our being armed. Most of the world knows this, so why don’t we?

Why is it that people Believe snoopes or think this is a lie. You can go to UN site or just do some research like Reuters or other's to see this is all true. This has been going on for several years now. They are actually supposed to vote this summer at the UN conference. Wake up and smell the coffee people and get your head out of your collective asses. Whispering, you forgot the person from the drug catel in Mexico killing a border agent. You also didn't mention the gun he used was given to him by the current administration. They had a federal judge seal the papaer and seal the reason he sealed the papers. Why didn't you bring that up? I guess you cannot bring yourself to say Obama or Holder screwed up big time. Robert needs to back away from his chain emails. A saw some con chain email about this two or three months ago. There is one glaring problem with all this fearmongering. I will hope our self-proclaimed Constitutional scholars (those always touting the 2nd amendment on threads like this one) will be able to tell us what it is. I see Robert didn't think it through.

RICHMOND, Va. -- A Virginia law limiting handgun purchases to one per month was repealed Tuesday, over the opposition of gun control supporters and relatives of victims who survived the Virginia Tech massacre.

Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell signed the bill into law after it was passed two weeks ago by the GOP-controlled General Assembly. He did not comment on signing the bill, though he said earlier he supported repealing the law.

Man accidentally shoots friend in leg at gun range

CONCORD, N.C. — Employees at a Concord shooting range are reviewing their safety procedures after an accidental shooting Wednesday afternoon.

Police have not yet released the victim's name.

Witnesses said he was shot one time, but the bullet traveled through his right hamstring and lodged in his lower left leg.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY • No one was injured when a veteran outpatient dropped a small caliber gun inside the mental health outpatient center at Jefferson Barracks today at 2:30 p.m.

Federal law enforcement officials now are investigating the accidental shooting. St. Louis County police have since backed away from the investigation after hospital officials told them the incident was an accidental discharge involving a man known to hospital staff, said Officer Rick Eckhard.

The man accidentally dropped a small caliber weapon and it discharged in the foyer, said Marcena Gunter, spokeswoman for the St. Louis Veterans Administration Healthcare System.
