U.S. support for Israel

It is not the Israelis who haven’t gone to the negotiating table. Until recently, the Palestinians had stayed away because they do not recognize Israel’s right to exist.

Hamas still refuses to recognize that Israel has a right to any of the territory from the Mediterranean to the border with Jordan. Do not expect Hamas to give de facto recognition to Israel by talking to the Israelis.

The Palestinian Authority on the so-called West Bank won’t come to the table because they fear armed action from Hamas. Even when the Palestinian Authority reaps economic benefit from Israel, it would be literal suicide to admit Israel can co-exist with any Palestinian state.

As for money, Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Muslim nations send millions to Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. And these nations won’t stop aid for the arms that Hamas buys while at the same time refusing to build a country.

Ending U.S. aid is not the answer while the Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel.

George....In many ways I can agree with you....

.....must be my Ron Paul side....

Gro, he might be anti-Semite, but I am not and don't believe we should be over their either. I don't believe we should meddle in any other country's affairs except our own or possibly another world war. And no, a nuclear war between 2 countries half way across the globe does not bother me. Because they are not America and that is what I'm most concerned with. We can help people once we help ourselves. But that is a ways off. The weak want to help out the weaker because it makes the weak feel strong. Let's fix ourselves, then we can focus on others. In the meantime, Israel can take care of themselves just like every other country is 'supposed' to.

You just knew that this letter would bring out the anti-Semites, and JohnWV did not disappoint.

Israel, not United States, is Iran's enemy. An Iran with nuclear weapons will disrupt Israel's cruel and outrageously exercised Mideast hegemony. All our Mideast wars have been against our interests, yet successfully advocated by the Jewish state. Again against our interests, Israel has involved us in increasingly overt operations against Iran. Spies and American military drones in Iranian airspace are the most recent revelations. Since before 9/11, American soldiers have been dying for the Jewish state. We are at war. Who did this to us? Israel, AIPAC, the One Percent and other organized and monied Israel Firsters have corrupted our politicians and entire electoral system. Justice and the future of America demand that they be prosecuted and jailed.

Ongoing war against occupied Palestine is so beneficial to Israel that the Jewish state will prolong it indefinitely. The context of war perpetuates enormous flow of American money and military assistance, abets continuing illegal confiscation of Palestinian land, and masks the Jewish State's ruined integrity. Will Israel agree to any reasonable peace just because Palestine regains a unified government? No way. Not even close. Only force, UN and NATO, credibly threatening or actually deploying, can achieve that.
