My 86-year-old mother is in a Kansas nursing home and faithfully fills out an absentee ballot to vote in elections. She uses a wheelchair and is unable to walk.
She has not had a driver’s license for many years. I do not think she has a birth certificate to prove who she is.
If she is not allowed to vote in Kansas any longer, then the state of Kansas better figure out a way for the elderly and disabled to prove their existence.
Maybe Kris Kobach needs to go around to nursing centers and take everyone’s picture so they will have a photo ID for voting. The only voter fraud I’ve ever suspected was the election results in the state of Florida in 2000 when Al Gore won the popular vote but George W. Bush won the presidency.
Oh, that’s right, Bush’s brother was the Florida governor. Get busy, Kris, you have a lot of ground to cover before November.

I did read the story and watched the link there Groan old pall. What did I miss? Please tell me.
See that's a major problem with conservatives. You think you're making some huge point when there is no point. Too many conservatives have knee-jerk reactions to issues without considering the gmfacts at hand.
Oh...and when someone argues in a fashion to show the holes in their case, they openly admit that there was really no issue without even realizing it. It's like shooting borgs in a barrel.

That's a major problem with liberals. You commented on the Holder deal before you even watch the video that I linked to. Too many liberals have knee-jerk reactions to issues without considering the facts at hand.

I sure do, Kate.
I know what business I am going to start...voter insurance.
Has your ballot been wrongfully obtained? Did someone present themselves as you, taking away your security and sense of identity? Did a liberal vote a straight party ticket in your name? If so, call 1-800-328-7448 and receive a free quote for voter insurance today. Hurry...the next election is only months away.
I could make millions. Of course I'd have to advertise on Fox and the Home Shopping Network to really get results from my target market.

I'll bet US leaves his car unlocked with keys in it because, after all, grand theft auto happens anyway. ;)

LL, this is only proof that a conservative will stoop to new lows to show a problem could exist. This is someone committing a crime to show that crime is a problem. In principle, it would be like me stealing someone's car to show that I can. Of course I would give the car right back so there's no foul...right.
There is always potential for fraud or theft or Nyother crime. I had a fake ID in college. I was able to use it for many things. I bet the same type of hard-core investigative reporting could yield the same result with an approved photo ID. It may not be a valid ID, but who really cares right?
It amazes me that there are some among us that think this proves what they think it proves.
Posted by: Uncommon sense | April 09, 2012 at 11:07 AM
Well that certainly proves it....It's all a matter of prospective...
Things never change - No proof could possibly be enough... ;-)

Ok, he didn't vote so there's no fraud. Then why do conservatives point to all the dead people on voter registrations as some sign of voter fraud when this issue is discussed? If dead people don't vote, there's no fraud.
This person falsely presented himself as another person to gain access to the ballot.
LL, my "scary speech" was just offering future ideas for this crack con "journalism."
What was the point then, Groan? Let me take a wild stab at what you think it was...
Some a-hole walked into a voting precinct with personal information of an actual registered voter in that precinct and falsely claim to be said person even though he wasn't. He received the ballot. When the pretender asked about showing ID, he was told no. I bet the pretender had to clean his shorts right after this encounter, as I'm sure it was equivalent to a con wet dream. This pretender was even a white guy claiming to be a black guy and got his ballot. Ohhhh...I can hear the excitement from all the children. It was like Christmas morning. Now, you have a smoking gun that "proves" voter fraud can exist.
Yet, he didn't vote. So, as Kate points out...no fraud took place...but voter fraud could...yet it didn't...but it is a real threat...yet it wasn't. I guess we're just so lucky this pretender wasn't an evil libber hell-bent on stealing elections...he might have actually voted. Thank God we have our noble CON elements out there "almost" commuting crimes to show us poor dumb folk just what we need to fear.

That's exactly the sort of slime I'd expect from Breitbart - good to see fraud is continuing in his name.

SWOOOOOOSH! That's the sound of the point going above your head. Perhaps next time (and I'm confident there will be a next time) you'll recognize the sound.

...no harm done - no vote! Interesting results though...

US, he didn't vote. No fraud.

"Hey, maybe your crack team of geniuses should go rape an elderly woman to show we need more protection of the elderly? Maybe they can get info on someone and call the IRS, pretending to be them to get info? Maybe they should burn down a house to show we need more arson prevention laws?" - Uncommon sense
Get a grip man!! It's an interesting item...
It may or may not be true... but, raging into a "scary speech" is pretty lame IMO!!
Many crimes are busted on "setting up" people....Prostitution, Drugs, Money schemes, etc.......
Posted by: LL | April 09, 2012 at 10:00 AM
This is beyond laughable, even for you.
Posted by: Uncommon sense | April 09, 2012 at 09:57 AM
Oh I got the point. Thanks! I think the real point is lost on you. That doesn't surprise me.
Hey, maybe your crack team of geniuses should go rape an elderly woman to show we need more protection of the elderly? Maybe they can get info on someone and call the IRS, pretending to be them to get info? Maybe they should burn down a house to show we need more arson prevention laws?
You have to be kidding?
This person committed voter fraud to try and show voter fraud is a problem or a real threat. What will CONs and their hard-hitting journalists think of next?

Now that's an interesting story Groenhagen...
Wonder what Holder's response will be?
Posted by: LL | April 09, 2012 at 09:15 AM
SK:
Janet could go to the Justice Department in DC to file a complaint with Eric Holder. Of course, she'll need a photo ID to enter the building.
And I thought the elderly were more likely to vote GOP. If the GOP's goal is to suppress votes, and not to prevent fraud, why are they suppressing the votes of their own voters?
Posted by: Groenhagen | April 09, 2012 at 09:07 AM
Janet, there is no voter fraud issue, there is only a right wing voter suppression issue and your mother is just collateral damage in the right wings war on minorities/elderly or anyone else that might not think in their narrow terms.
